Head Retopology

Initially modelling the head was a huge pain and its a big part of the characters presence and one of the first things that people look at are the face if its in view. So for learning purposes i downloaded a base mesh head from www.turbosquid.com to retopologise using 3DSMax's ribbon tools. 


 I took the base head into Pixologic's Sculptris to shape the head into my concept.




The hair is only simple due to it being a place holder. I was trying to replicate the amount of hair apes have on their faces to make the character more rugged to suit his environment, and also to emphasise on the fact that its a stylised character.
